Rosso di Montalcino, Baccinetti 2020, red wine
This Rosso di Montalcino from our favourite Tuscan winemaker Baccinetti is the perfect wine to start the evening with. Jane loves to say "start with a Rosso but end with a Brunello". The concentrated palate shows a ruby red colour, fruity aroma's of cherry, plum and spices. This Rosso has a good structure and is completely in balance, even shows some earthy tones and ends with soft tannins.
Jane can even highly recommend this Rosso on a hot summer day, chilled at 12 - 16ºC to make it a refreshing red wine.
A box contains 6 bottles
Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese
15% Vol.
Service Temperature: 17 - 19ºC
Chilled: Jane loves it between 12 - 16 ºC
Jane's recommendation: Every Italian dish with cooked tomato sauce will go with this Rosso. Especially cooked meats like beef and Jane's favourite: roast or grilled chicken! Since this Rosso is perfect to start the aperitivo with, it will match perfectly with an Antipasti plate littered with cured meats, salted cheeses, nuts, figs and some olives. A piece of Italian bread on the table and you're all set!
About Rosso di Montalcino
If you are looking for a more affordable alternative to Brunello di Montalcino, then this little brother, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, is an excellent option. This wine was created in 1984, and is made from the same grape as big brother, namely Sangiovese (100%)
Rosso di Montalcino is a young wine and easier to drink, which combines a superb structure to great freshness. It is an extremely enjoyable wine, not based on powerness and body, very versatile in terms of food pairings.
